I need peer-reviewed articles for my paper about drug addicted babies and adoption. Can you help me?

Answer

Hi Julie

Please go to the OU Portal and look for the link below blackboard to the Myers Library Online Page and click on it. If you are already logged into the portal you should be able to go to that page and look on your right hand side and find the Online Library Databases link. Once you click on it, go to the Ebscohost database. Once in Ebscohost you must choose databases by clicking on them; check the box next to the following databases PsychArticles, Social Science Index Full-Text, Psychology and Behavioral and Cinahl in Full-Text and then click on continue. Then you will see three search boxes. In the search boxes put drug addiction AND children AND adoption. Look down in the green area below the search box and find “limit your results”. Find full-text and scholarly peer reviewed and check both boxes. Then click search. I did the same search and you can replicate it because I found 14 results. I also changed the search and did a search using the terms drug abuse AND children AND adoption and found 31 results. The problem is that when searching the database and using terms, there are specific terms that do not work well, such as “infants” and “babies”; so you will have to stick with using the term "children".
