Question: I have used EBSCO Host to generate a list of journal items I want to use for my research paper. However, some of them only show me the article info along with the abstract. How can I view the entire article?

Answer

HI Tom

I would suggest that before you do your search, go below the search box and limit your search to full-text articles and scholarly articles. Then you should only find full-text, scholarly articles in our databases on your topic.

If you are finding articles and only viewing abstracts for an articles in our databases, then that means that we do not have the full-text for the articles at all and if you want the articles you will need to contact our Interlibrary Loan Librarian, Jan Lee to get them for you from another library.

The Interlibrary Loans process take about a week, but it could be longer depending on what it is you are looking for or where we get it from. So I would suggest emailing Jan with all the information you have, journal authors, title, periodical information, volume and series #, date, page numbers and also the date by which you need the article. If we can get it for you, it usually will not cost you anything, and you would be able to keep it, unless it is really usual.

Here is Jan's email: jan.lee@ottawa.edu and she can be contacted at 785-248-2535.

Thanks.
