J. Nort Atkinson is not referred to on any of the graduation lists, is he? I'd assume that the "Nort" stands for?

The Nort. Stands for Northrop.
If you look in the Ottawa University Alumni Directory for 1900-1 you will see a listing in 1898 for James Northrop Atkinson-A.B, B.S. Graduating from the Class on 1900. He was also the President of the OU Alumni Association in 1902.
