I'm looking for a journal that covers Othello's banning from an interracial stand point.

I'm doing a paper on how literature is affected by legislation. I have selected how Othello's banning in public schools happened in conjunction with the court case of Loving vs Virginia.

Hello Sharon

If you go to the myOttawa and find the Myers Library Online Page, go to the online databases and combine the following databases: Literary Reference Center, Academic Search Premier, Social Science Index FT and Education Research Complete you can search across those databases but checking the boxes next to each and then pressing continue. Once you get a search screen, limit to peer reviewed and full-text articles by checking the boxes under the search screen. I did a search using Othello AND racism and found 10 articles. I tried Othello AND banning and found 1 article. You could replicate it and try other search terms/synonyms to see if you can get better results.

For the Loving vs Virginia case, I would use LexisNexis Academic. if you click on Look up Case, you should be able to enter the parties and find the case explanations. I found 29 articles on your case.

Please let me know if you have any further questions and call me or email me back. 785-248-2536.
