I entered in the date range of 1/2009 to 5/2014 but I get search results before 2009. Why is that?

I am in EBSCOhost and selecting peer-reviewed.

I would just try again. I would make sure that the range in correctly in the "Published Date" section of  "limit your results" under the search box.  If you put the date range in the search box it won't work, you have to use the "published date" section.
