I noticed that Addictions Counseling is being offered on the Main Campus now. What is the name of your course and the course number? Where are your students in your class located? Are they on the Main site? If they are then you might want to send me a formal list of books that you would like us to buy for the collection for your classes to use in hard copy. The students at the sites often use us to get ILL articles that they cannot get when they are abstracted in the databases, but there are restrictions with ILLs eg. they can only be used by the person ordering them and they cannot be linked online.
Please note to that we have 150,000 ebooks and so you should check in Ebscohost to see what we have on your topic. We also have four other databases of interest to you in Ebscohost: PsycArticles, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection, Social Science Index Full-text and Mental Measurements Yearbook. We have a fifth from Alexander Street Press called Counseling Therapy in Video that might also be useful to you.
I checked the catalog and we do not currently have your textbook in ebook format or hard copy, so if you have students on the Main campus then you have the option of putting items on 3 hour loan at our desk in the library under your course number, name and your last name. If you want to ask the publisher of your textbook for an extra copy, then you can send us a copy of your textbook, we can then put it on 3 hour loan for your students, or otherwise we can purchase a copy from our bookstore and put it on reserve for your students. Just let me know. If there are other books you would want us to purchase or if you have personal books you want to send us to put at the front desk for your students under your name, we can do that too. Do you know how many students are taking your class that are from the Ottawa Campus? Please note that any articles or videos that are in our databases that I mentioned in your subject area can be linked to your course in blackboard for your students.
