Question: Hi,
How might I find an article in our online library that I found on say Google?

Answer

Hello Rebecca

There are more than two ways of finding an article in our online library. Go to the Myers Library Online page and find the following: EDS, Periodicals A to Z and the Online Library Databases links:

1. You can type the name of the author or the name of the title of the article in EDS, if it comes up with a full-text article then it is in our databases.

2. Or you can type the title of the periodical into Periodicals A to Z. If we have the periodical in full-text there will be a link to it into the online databases and all you have to do is follow it.

3. Or you can go to the Online Library Databases, and look for the databases relating to the article topic and choose them before searching. Once in the search box, enter the title and author of the article in the box and do your search.

4. Please also be sure to check on Google Scholar to make sure that the article is not in full-text on the web.

If we do not have the article you want in full-text in the databases, then you will need to contact Jan Lee our ILL Librarian at 785-248-2535 or send all the information about the article (title, name, periodical title, volume numbers, issue number, page numbers and your OU email address and your  contact telephone number) to ill@ottawa.edu and request it. It doesn't cost anything, and once we get it for you, you can keep it.

if you have any further questions, please email me back or call me at 785-248-2536.
