hello, I am researching sunscreen and skin cancer for my research paper. i cannot find anything in the library.what am I doing wrong?

Answer

Hello Sandra

The reason you are not finding anything might be because of either your choice of terms when using the databases or your choice of database for doing your search.

I would suggest trying to use medical databases such as Medline or Cinahl because the question you are actually trying to answer is a medical one.

I would go to Ebscohost and checkmark all the medical databases in the database suite and then try your search.

I went to Ebscohost and did a search combining the following databases: CINAHL, Health Source: Consumer Edition; Medline, HealthSource: Nursing and using the terms  SUNSCREEN  and SKIN CANCER in the search box  and found 232 full-text articles on your topic.

When doing my search, I went below the search box first and check-marked full-text and scholarly/peer-reviewed articles and then put in search terms.

You are welcome to replicate my search.

If you have any further questions please email me back or call me at 785-248-2536.

Thanks.
