searching for electronic articles

Hello,
How do I search for electronic articles?

Answer

Hello Juliette

If you login to the OU Portal, myottawa.ottawa.edu and go to the Myers Library Online Page, you will see a link to the Online Library Databases. Click on the link and you should see all the databases. For full-text articles the best database to use is Ebscohost. Databases on the page are organized in alphabetical order.

Once you are in Ebscohost, choose the databases you want to use by checkmarking them. Read the descriptions for each database and then decide which to choose that would relate best to your topic choice. Once the databases are check-marked, then you will click continue and you will get a search box. Once you see the searchbox make sure that before entering your terms for searching, you go below the search box first and limit your search to full-text and scholarly and peer-reviewed articles by checking the boxes in the limit your search area. Then do your search.

If you have any further questions regarding searching email me back or call me at 785-248-2536 (available 9am-6pm CST).

Thanks.
