I'm writing a research paper on the negative effects of soda. Which sources will be the best for this paper? I'd rather not waste unnecessary time.
Answer
Hello Reanna
I would choose databases that are medical and healthcare related. (Think about the question you are asking and the outcome you want and then you will have an idea of what topic you are actually dealing with and searching in the databases.)
I would suggest going to Ebscohost and using Academic Search Premier, Cinahl, HealthSource Nursing and Health Source Consumer edition. Check the boxes next to each database and then search across them. When you click continue you will get a search box. I would go below the searchbox and limit my search to full-text and peer-review by checking those boxes.
I would start by searching CARBONATED BEVERAGES AND NEGATIVE EFFECTS
If you use SODA AND Negative Effects you will find lots of articles about bicarbonate of soda and physics which does not have any relation to the topic...but there are 83 articles and you will have to scroll through a lot that doesn't relate to the topic because there are a few that would relate to what you are looking for.
If you have any further questions you are welcome to email me back or call me.
