I am afraid that we get those messages too from time to time on our library computers. We have discovered that what we are dealing with when we get that message, is not a security problem per se but a browser-related problem. Quite often you are prompted to "add additions" or "exceptions" in order to get to a database or a website or an article. Do that and then the browser will allow you to get to what you need.
